GUARANI PARA PARAGUAYOS Nosotros los paraguayos hablamos el guaraní sin haberlo estudiado; lo aprendemos por exposición a ella como primera (lengua madre) o como segunda lengua. Pero para hablar, leer y/o escribir con competencia en ella necesariamente debemos estudiarla como es el caso de cualquier otra lengua. GUARANI FOR FOREIGNERS "WHY should I study Guarani"? Well, 1) Guarani is one of the two official languages of the Republic of Paraguay. It means no can prohibit a Paraguayan to speak his/her real native language. 2) More than 95% of the Paraguayans speak Guarani and Spanish. If you speak just Spanish then you have no problem to communicate with most Paraguayans, in other words, it is a real bilingual country. 3) But if you want to understand more about the Paraguayn way of thinking then you better speak Guarani! Why isn't enough with Spanish? It is a fact that speaking one or two languages means having one or two cultures that are integrated, invisible but at the same time independant. 4) The more languages a person speaks the more the more people he/she can communicate with and the more channels to adquire knowledge.
